My parents had an Aspen. It had the 318 V8, sport wheels, etc. and looked pretty sharp for the era. It was the first car that I ever drove. Unfortunately it was a HUGE POS that always had some issue or another including spraying oil all over the engine compartment.

Many people were bewildered over how Chrysler had managed to turn the Dart/Valiant into the Aspen/Volare. Electronic Lean- Burn was part of it, but not all.

It would have been about an inch shorter than the current Charger, but, to be fair, the Charger is pretty small for a full-size car.

I have a similar memory of parents flopping in 1984 . Many new and diverse c hoices . They passed on an Alliance (“ piece of shit” ), a Voyager (“ I can’t see the end of the hood” ) and got a Cherokee.
Shame the world didn’t see a brown t-bar roof Aspen wagon.

Small was much different in the era of big lazy engines and longitudinal mounting.
